Today aboard was about informing everyone how different this port is. The ship did not sugar coat that Morocco, while more liberal in their approach to dress and Western ideas we're still in a Muslim country and some rules still must be observed.
While resorts in the area are more relaxed about things like dress or drink while we're in public spaces we must be very reserved. Shorts shouldn't be worn as some of the more special buildings will require no knees or should be exposed to gain entry. Women were advised what not to wear with the ship even offering to loan certain attire to the ladies depending upon where they were headed. We're told to bring government ID, ladies should not allow people to take photos with any local, be mindful of people trying to hassle you (often sign for pick-pocketing) and maybe the most interesting, not to be on the balcony in any stage of undress (read: swimsuits, tanning, etc). Let's see if they're correct or overreacting.
Tomorrow - at 7:30 my trip departs into the heart of this country, on to the city of Marrakech.
